Collaborate and Innovate

In today’s digital world, one of the biggest challenges is to get people to notice your brand and keep them interested.

With so many options available online, it’s important to find a way to engage and interact with your audience.

How do you do so using innovation and utilizing today’s available tech?

With… Augmented Reality (AR)

Augmented Reality is a technology that adds graphics or other types of virtual content into the screen of your device. Virtual content can be in the form of images, 3D graphics, animated models, and other effects that help enhance real-life visuals.

Augmented Reality technology offers great benefits, especially in marketing campaigns. These benefits can include:

  • Improving the overall quality of your online content
  • Increasing audience/customer interaction and improving user experience
  • Creating immersive and highly accessible marketing campaigns and platforms for your audience

On the SEO side of things, using AR allows you to improve your brand’s e-commerce strategies, implement gamification, make navigation interactive and intuitive, and also add visual search capabilities to your platform.

AR technology helps boost product sales and streamlines the purchasing process by creating a user experience that caters to a customer’s preferences, and provides them with a virtual visualization of a product.

The application’s visual search capabilities allow users to take an image of an item and allow the application to search for a similar item or location. This provides another way of searching online other than the standard method of using keywords.

With the marketplace becoming increasingly digital, having these kinds of features help create a more optimized experience, and keep the brand relevant and thriving in the digital market.

Augmented Reality and Pokémon!

A successful example of using augmented reality is Pokémon Go!.

Launched in 2016, the app has become one of the biggest mobile games to date.

The game is a tie-in to the highly successful Pokémon video game franchise, and tasks players with finding and capturing different creatures from the popular franchise.

The game has you travelling to different real-world locations to find different characters, face fellow players in battles, and perform a host of other features present in the franchise’s main games.

In just one month after its release, the game generated USD 206.5 million in revenue, and was downloaded over 130 million times around the same time.

While it may have been released three years ago, the game has reached an all-time high in terms of yearly revenue in 2019, generating over USD 900 million through in-game purchases done by players.

It is also worth noting that by 2019, the game has been downloaded 1 billion times, showing a steady increase since its launch.

  • 2016 = 500 million downloads
  • 2017 = 750 million downloads
  • 2018 = 800 million downloads

These are MASSIVE numbers, especially in the highly competitive video game market, where many games tend to see drops in revenue and player count after a certain time period.

It’s important to mention that the Pokémon brand has been around for about two decades.

This was another way for them to stay relevant in the online gaming industry and to its target market.

Their use of AR had a great effect on their marketing and promotions. People were talking about them everywhere—online news, articles, social media platforms, and many more!

Augmented Reality technology only looks to become more widespread in the near future. Thanks to the increasing accessibility of smartphones and other mobile devices, more brands will look to utilize similar technology to connect with their audience.

The question is: can you take your brand or business to the next level through the use of technology like AR?

The goal of using digital platforms is to help your brand reach a wider audience, along with providing more means for people to discover you online.

The more people discover your brand and see what you offer, the more you can increase the number of times your brand will be searched on digital platforms such as search engines.

Once that happens, you’ll increase the traffic on your brand’s website, and become a top search result.

AR is just one of the many marketing strategies that you can use for FYO, Find You Optimization!

There are many different ways that you can use applications to promote your brand outside of marketing campaigns. They can be used to interact with your audience to help you understand their needs, and add another degree of interactivity.

By using Augmented Reality, you can find new ways to optimize your SEO strategy and get on top of the digital marketing game!
