Experience a full, long life starting today! Know how this physician applies the science of longevity in one’s health

Longevity

As someone who values my overall health, I am no stranger to the physical fitness world.

If I give you a list of the number of wellness plans, boot camps, or diet plans that I’ve tried throughout my life, you’d be reading a much longer piece than this article.

Let’s face it. Ever since our gym classes in grade school, most of us have been conditioned to follow a guide or box ourselves into something as eating religiously according to the food pyramid, which was developed in the early 90’s.

Here’s the thing: While many of today’s fitness tracks and tips seem to work, it’s important to know that all these are marketed at the general level. Even personal trainers develop their “own” way of training people and sell “their” personal system.

… but I want to understand MY ability. I want a calculator or scale that shows me where I am at―not just some app that logs my weight vs. height, and then tells me how many steps to get. I want to truly measure what my personal abilities look like.

Allow me to explain that further…

I want to know, based on my build, allergies, blood levels, and DNA, where my body is at. After doing some research and sitting down with my doctors and experts in this field, I came across Peter Attia, a physician who focuses on the applied science of longevity.

Specifically, Attia deals with nutritional interventions, exercise physiology, sleep physiology, emotional and mental health, and pharmacology to increase lifespan while simultaneously improving healthspan.

In short, he’s all about longevity.

Throughout Attia’s articles, podcasts, and more, he gives a formula to properly measure your body's full functioning mode whether that be through endurance, physical strength, flexibility, etc.

Aside from that, he shares his insights on how you can achieve this on a day-to-day, even hour-to-hour, basis by putting yourself in certain “zone” levels.

Each zone is achieved by getting into the nitty gritty details of the everyday habits and rituals of your life. These include details on how much you sleep, walk, eat, drink, exercise, and take vitamins.

This method may be complex, but it’s worth doing. However, because there is so much depth to this, I’ve decided to focus in on some of the frameworks Attia gives to measure one’s health and share my takeaways with you.

For the next couple of months, I’ll be dedicating my health articles to a particular piece of Attia’s work.

I encourage you to subscribe or tune in to Peter’s podcast, The Drive. This will help you gain more knowledge and insight into the tips that I will be sharing in the coming months.

Specifically, I’ll be sharing how these tips made positive impacts in my life and why I chose to focus on these concepts.
I hope you’re as excited as I am to revamp your wellness goals this year!

Remember: Keeping your physical body healthy and fit is important. This enables you to live a generally longer, healthier, and happier life.

Hope you’ve found this week’s insights interesting and helpful.
