Allow me to introduce you to Rik Reppe

Monday: MicroBusiness and Marketing Marvels

Every Monday, I like to feature someone who truly stands out in their field. Each of these individuals has built or helped build some extraordinary businesses. I hope you will find some nuggets of knowledge and even be inspired by their paths and insights, just as I have.

While people and business vary incredibly, they have a common pattern of business success: they’ve found a way to fulfill the otherwise unmet needs of clients with a unique offering that leverages and builds truly genuine assets.

Today, I’m very pleased to bring you a note penned by a colleague from my 30+ years of consultancy experience, Rik Reppe.

After working for companies such as PwC Rik has now ventured out to build a unique platform, built with a community of independent experience and design experts. He’s titled it “Experience Alchemists.”

I encourage you to take the time to hear in Rik’s own words how he is changing the industry of experience and design, matching the best talent with the best projects and top enterprises.

Rik Reppe: Experience Alchemists

My name is Rik Reppe and I’m a recovering consultant.

Over the past 25 years I climbed the ladder, eventually becoming a partner at PwC.

At PwC, I led the Global Customer Experience Practice and was one of the founding partners of its hybrid agency-consultancy, the Experience Center.

Throughout my career I have been an agent of change. Companies called on me to work on their most difficult design challenges.

Design thinking is the wave of the future, and companies have trusted me for over 25 years to bring them cutting edge solutions.

During this time I became acutely aware of how many companies lack the internal capabilities to meet their design challenges themselves. Enterprises are looking for talent that can make an impact on their experience design.

When I saw an opportunity to change how companies think about experience and how they go about addressing experience challenges, I took it.

So, I left PwC and became the Mayor of Experience Alchemists, a highly selective community of independent professionals in the field of user experience design.

Our community members have broken away from the traditional employment path and self-selected into an independent career in experience strategy, design and delivery.

As the Mayor of Experience Alchemists, I work to connect talent with enterprise clients large and small that need the skills and experience to work on transformational design challenges.

Our community is made up of the top experience design talent, able to work on the projects they want to work on, when they want to work on them.

As a community, members can work individually or band together in teams to work on larger projects. By going independent our talent gains the freedom and autonomy to take back control of their careers.

Hope you’ve found this week’s insights interesting and helpful.

Stay tuned for next Monday’s MicroBusiness Marvels!
